Eva Split is built for the moment after dinner when nobody wants to do mental math. You photograph the receipt, share a link, and everyone taps what they ordered. The app handles itemized splits, tax, tip, and couples paying together.
Step 1 — Add the receipt
Open the app and snap a photo of the bill, or paste an image from your camera roll. Our AI reads every line item plus subtotal, tax, and tip when they appear on the receipt. You can also add lines by hand — splitting stays free either way.
Signed-in users get 5 free AI scans every month, reset on the 1st. If you need more before then, you can top up with scan credits or go Pro ($1.99/mo or $9.99/yr) for unlimited scanning. Referring a friend who signs up and scans their first receipt gives you both a month of Pro.
Step 2 — Share the link
Every receipt gets a unique URL. Text it to the table, drop it in the group chat, or let everyone scan a QR code. No one needs to install an app or create an account to view the receipt and pick their items.
Changes sync in real time. When one person assigns the shared appetizer, everyone else sees it update immediately.
Step 3 — Assign items and see totals
Add the people at the table, then tap each line to mark who shared it. Shared dishes split evenly across everyone you select. Tax and tip can be entered as a flat amount or a percentage — we distribute them proportionally based on each person’s subtotal.
Extra tools for real-world dinners
- Receipt groups — Same people, many dinners? Bundle receipts and see net balances across a trip, a month of meals, or shared groceries. See how receipt groups work.
- Payment groups — Couples, parents, or friends paying on one card? Group people together so their totals roll up the way you actually pay. See how payment groups work.
- Tip exempt — Service fees and merchant fees stay on the bill but drop out of tip math, so 20% tips the meal — not the fee. See how tip exempt works.
- Birthday splits — Treating someone for their birthday? Mark them as a birthday person and everyone else picks up their share evenly. See how birthday splits work.
- Currency conversion — Eating abroad? Convert the receipt from local currency to your home currency with a live exchange rate.
- Payment handles — Save your Venmo, Cash App, PayPal, or Revolut handle so friends can pay you back in one tap.
- Receipt history — Sign in to revisit past splits and reopen shared links anytime.
Who is it for?
Friend groups splitting itemized restaurant tabs, roommates sharing takeout, travelers dividing a bill in a foreign currency, and anyone tired of “just split it evenly” when people ordered different amounts.
